OK! I know I’m slaking already, two weeks into April and no Images posted.
Truth be told there was a problem with the delivery of my new camera, I ordered online from SLRHut on the morning of Tuesday 31st March and waited patiently for it to make the long Journey from the USA to my front door.
To my Amazement the packaged arrived at 5pm on Thursday, I took the box from the DHL delivery man and like an excited child on Christmas morning I sat on the living-room floor and tore open my prize…
to major disappointment!
THEY HAD SENT ME THE WRONG BLOODY CAMERA!
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I got straight on the phone to customer services and explained that I had ordered the just released Sony a7ii and when I opened the box I had in my hand a Sony a77ii which was not only an SLR when I had ordered a mirror-less model but this camera was twice the size and half the price of my a7ii.
To be fair their customer service was amazing, Richard the friendly American customer service guy said that if I could get the camera to the DHL office within the hour, and he could see on his system that it was in transit he would put my camera in the post that very evening.
True to his word he did and amazingly my camera arrived on Saturday afternoon, all the way from the USA and all during the Easter bank holidays. Great service I’m sure you will agree.
So you see the first week was over before I even received my new camera and the second week my wife and I had booked some time away in the Cotswolds.
At least I had some time to get familiar with my new Camera and I must say I am VERY impressed.
I know it has been released to five-star reviews and all the right people are raving about it and I know I did have a little play around with it at The Photography Show but I still had the tiniest bit of doubt in my mind as to whether I had done the right thing by changing my whole set up.
Well I can happily say I am now 100% convinced I did the right thing.
Spending the past week getting to know this camera has been a great experience, It feels great in the hand, even though its a Sony and I’ve spent the last 11 years using a Canon it was set up so well the transition for me was seamless, the features on it are not just clever but helpful and useful, it is great in low light and the picture quality is VERY, VERY good.
After my first week with this little camera I am totally won over.
I will post my first Images in the coming days and I will ensure that I have as promised one for each month since the beginning of April.
Watch this space . . . . . .
