Street Photography

“Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera.”– Henri Cartier-Bresson

A quote from one of my Photography hero’s and a man who’s images inspire and excite me.

I can view Bresson’s images over and over and find a new magic and beauty in them every time I look.

It was with the great man in mind that for this weeks image I decided I would explore the world of street photography.

As far as photography is concerned this has always been one of my favourite genres and over the years some of my best images have been created out on the street.

So when my wife said to me she needed to go into town to do some shopping today, I grabbed my camera and a small 50mm lens and decided to make use of the time I would inevitably spend standing outside of various large department stores waiting as she satisfied a Woman’s natural urge to shop.

I must admit I did not spend as much time standing around as I had anticipated but never the less I still managed to get a few images that I was happy with when I got back to my computer.

After some deliberation I managed to narrow the images down to four and eventually settled on this one of a group of buskers playing their merry tune on New Street in Birmingham.

The Image today was not taken on my a7ii as i wanted to travel as light as possible so decided to take the Sony a5000 with me and I must say even though the image is not up to the standard of the a7ii it is still of a high enough quality to satisfy all but the most demanding of needs.

Enjoy.
