Well that time has come again and as a photography fan, as always I was getting excited…
The Photography Show 2016 was here and although I didn’t have anything specific I wanted to see or do this year, I still boarded the train on Tuesday morning like a little boy on his way to his first theme park, ticket in hand and big smile on my face.
This year the show was as good as ever, with a great selection of stands from the usual big guns as well asĀ numerous small independent businesses with a great selection of products and services.
I arrived at 10am and was early enough to get around most of the show before it started to get really crowded just after lunch time.
So after I had sat for a while and eaten my lunch, I decided the best way to avoid the now extremely busy exhibition hall was to sit and listen to some of the excellent and informative talks that were going on at various points throughout the show.
By the time, I decided to leave it was 3.30pm and I had already been tempted by an offer Calumet were doing on their stand with a generous 50% off the wonderful Manfrotto Pro Light Backpack.
So I’m heading towards the door when a sign on the Leica stand caught my eye…
One of my photography heroes was going to be doing a meet and great on their stand at 4.30pm…
Of course I had no choice but to hang around and meet him, and I wasn’t disappointed, he was a very friendly down to earth man and I’m so glad I stayed an hour longer just to meet him and have a brief chat and a photograph.
Thank you Tom Stoddart,
