Marketing Your Photography Business on Facebook

Marketing Your photography business on facebook

Following on from last months post about Marketing on Twitter, I thought it was only fair to write something about Facebook marketing too…

So…

If you are looking to market your photography business through this popular social media platform, there are certain things you should be doing.

Regardless of what genera you’re in, these strategies may prove helpful in getting the word out about your business or products.

Here are some of the better-known marketing tools and tips available for Facebook users.

  1. The App

One of the most important marketing strategies you can employ is the app.

These apps let you customise your page in many ways, Short for “application,” apps are software that can enable you to do all sorts of interactive things, from hosting events to holding contests.

Here are a few of the apps you might consider adding to your business page.

  • Heyo – This app allows you to easily create contests and campaigns for Facebook with customisable templates.
  • Events – The Events app lets you spread the news about what’s happening. You can notify large numbers of people and update them quickly about an event and its details.
  • Ripe Social – This offers 11 apps to build a custom Page. It’s an affordable way to build a custom brand on Facebook, with a-la-carte options to choose from.
  • Networked blogs – You can use this app to update your latest blog post in your profile feed.
  • Hootsuite Scheduler – With this app you can control the timing of your outreach, post at the best times of day, and plan campaigns out in advance all while saving time in the process. Post to your Page or multiple social networks at once.
  1. Research your market

Any marketing strategy is improved with market research. You can research Facebook’s demographics online – articles abound that relate the results of case studies and demographic research.

This might best be tackled through an online search – type “research Facebook demographics” into your search engine and examine the results.

You can also search photography Groups on Facebook and join as many as you wish.

  1. News feed

There are various tactics for getting your information to spread rapidly, but some knowledgeable Facebook users say that news feed is the best way to get this kind of coverage.

The news feed is the central part of your page; it’s where your activity is posted and it’s the first thing people see when they visit your page.

Ensure you keep up to date and post on a regular basis.

  1. Selling Your Images

Facebook recently got on board the retail train – and there are now a selection of ‘shop front’ apps that allow you to upload your inventory to Facebook and sell your images from your page.

Customers can purchase items through the now-familiar shopping cart/checkout strategy, right from your own business page.

Have a look at some of these apps:-

  • Facebook Shop – With Facebook Shop, an app developed by Shopify for your Page, you can sell products directly on your Page and allow customers to go through the complete checkout process without ever leaving Facebook.
  • Storefront Social – With Storefront Social you can start a Facebook Store and start selling all over the globe. You can add products to your shop, customise your offerings, publish to your business Page, and set up a checkout system.
  • Shopial – Shopial lets you connect your online store to Facebook in just a few simple steps. You can advertise your products, create ads, and get reports for them.
  1. Join Facebook groups

As touched on earlier, joining groups gives you a means by which you can post informative videos, links, and so forth to a targeted market.

There are numerous photography groups that you can join and participate within these groups…

as a regular contributor of good advice and content people will come to know and trust you.

You can also form groups of your own and invite others to join.
